The Little Dumer finally learned to blow his own bubbles, the problem is he uses his nose instead of his mouth! |
They forgot to tell Jordy the game is NOT tackle football! |

Pre-natal insomnia has Mommy up in the middle of the night and so I thought I would help empty the ol' noggin with a blog post. Daddy has been back for over three weeks now, so it's official: Nanny is married to Charlie! Good thing too, because Jordy was calling him Pappa already.

Chris was pleased to be able to see his mother's nuptials and help out with what he could for the wedding, but was very glad to come home to his family, and we missed him too! We have since decided that, though I was disappointed to have been unable to see the wedding, we probably made the right choice to keep the Little Dumer as far away as possible from a loooooong airplane ride with a layover; he has demonstrated his complete immersion in the Terrible Two's stage of life. Best way to describe Jordan right now is that he is just so mercurial; one second he is completely fine and happy and the next second we're at DEFCON 1! For example, this morning Jordy and I got up (he even let me sleep in til 8:15 - wow!) and let Daddy sleep in for a little while, had a smallish brekkie, and were playing happily. We took off for a family brunch around 11-ish and we literally got into the door of the restaurant when he went into melt-down mode. We tried placating him with toys, ice, a drink, walking, all of our usual arsenal of tricks and nothing worked. At the point where I could hear him shrieking outside but could no longer even see him I called the server over and asked for the bill for our beverages. Not only did he ruin our Sunday breakfast, he did the same when we decided to go to the PNE, we managed to last about 6 hours there, with one nap about an hour long, but he was not into the rides as we thought he may be, he'd see one and be impatient to get on it, then the ride would start and he would freak out and the attendant would kick us off, and then as soon as he was off he'd be mad that he wasn't on the ride any more! We tried this twice before Daddy was done with the rides. SO GLAD we weren't trapped on a plane with him for hours upon hours! And let me tell you, my hormone level right now and his freak-outs are not a great combination.
At one of EA's Family Fun Nights Mom suggested we let Jordy have a go at the bouncy castle. Dad wasn't sure... but J-man had a blast! (Sorry 'bout the net, but it was the safest way to snap pics) |
At any rate, at least we know he is a normal kid. Chris' theory is that this stage is known as the Terrible Twos because they are frustrated that adults don't know what they want and toddlers are incapable of understanding why sometimes the answer is no; and that it shouldn't be too surprising that most kids reach this point around the same time that they start speaking more words and really stretching their abilities because they have to start communicating to get what they want. And there may be something to that, because speaking more words is what Jordan is doing. Since Chris has been home the boy's vocabulary has really taken off; not only are his signs increasing on a daily basis, Jordy now says purple, ice, rock, apple, and I am pretty sure today he started trying to say I like and I don't like! In addition, he astounded me last week when we went to the park with his climbing abilities so I had to show them off to Daddy today, check out the videos:
It's the Amazing Spider-Tot!
(And yes, that other little boy did eventually move out of the way so Jordo could clamber up and hit the slide.)
He loves the pushes where you run under him! |
Other than the random emotional outbursts from Jordan (at least they don't usually last too long,) we are all still fairly well and happy. No issues ever came out of that last ultrasound, so we are healty and good to go. School (and Daycare) resumes this week after Labour Day, so I will probably get an opportunity to start on some of my little projects to get us and the house ready for Baby Girl very soon.
