The Little Dumer is home again at last, after an exciting week rusticating on Paradise Lake. We can hardly believe that the week is over; it flew by so fast! Mommy can go on
ad nauseum about how great it was, but we think this time it may be best to just let the pictures and some brief captions do the talking:
We stayed in cabin 9, better known as Rainbow Lodge (presumably after the species of trout most plentiful in the lake?)
Jordan and Evan (aka "Lightnin' Leaton") have a meeting of the minds. Uncle Stu advised Evan to Touch Gently, but Jordy didn't seem to mind a couple of rough pats.
We look forward to showing this to the boys when they are older. They were born 8 months apart, and the biggest difference between them is now, hopefully they'll grow to be good friends and spend many a summer vacation together.
The Mommies and the Babes.
The Little Dumer having a blast on his play mat.
Jordan's first fire with Nanny, Auntie Tina and Mommy. Too bad you couldn't partake of the s'mores, kiddo. Maybe next year.
Beautiful Rainbow Lodge in the twilight.
Getting to spend a bunch of time with Nanny.
Jordan's first ever dip in water that wasn't a bath! The cold water of Okanagan Lake was quite a shock to him on a hot day (37*C)
and he cried in protest at first, but was acclimated after a few minutes.
Mommy admits, she was a trifle concerned someone would report her for child abuse and was happy to remove the baby from the lake.
Napping after his lake excursion.
And a bit later, finding the energy for playing with Daddy. Turns out, we left the lake and Kelowna just in time; forest fires caused evacuations and closure of the highway towards our cabin the very next day!
Going for his first nature walk with Daddy in the Baby Bjorn.Yeah, he pretty much slept the whole time.
Big and Little Dumers with Uncle Stu and Baby Evan.(That's our little dude, obscured by his sun hat)
The last day Daddy, Nanny, Jordy, Uncle Larry, Aunt Virginia and Mommy say good-bye to Paradise Lake.
