Jordan's getting ready for his first vacation!

Oh boy! It's vacation time! Though what Jordy has done to earn this time off is unclear at the moment. As his Dad puts it, "Oh yeah, he really needs a vacation from suck-sleep-poop all day!" We're heading out to the BC interior, to a cabin on Paradise Lake, near Kelowna. This place only got electricity about five years ago and doesn't even have an actual address! So we think this will be a nice bit of R&R for us. We're joined by Nanny Mary, Deb's Aunt Virginia and Uncle Larry, their son Stuart, his wife Tina and their boy Evan. Oh, are we ever excited! We know we'll have lots of adventures, but to tide everyone over until our next blog post we've got some pictures for you.

Aw heck, before I tuck in for the night, I will say one more thing, completely unrelated, on a personal note about motherhood. It will be familiar to those of you who are my facebook friends, but I think it bears repeating: I was sitting up with Jordan one night recently, it was very late and I was fair exhausted, but it occurred to me as I drowsily watched him nursing, that though this sleep-deprived state I'm in seems interminable, I know that one day it will seem far too short. There are moments it seems that no one else in the world exists but me and the Little Dumer, together in that rocking chair. I'm trying really hard to cherish him even though at times I am feel clueless, exasperated and /or tired.

Jordy seems to enjoy his new bouncer!

(Though he doesn't seem to be doing much bouncing in it just yet...)

Very cool. Congratulations both of you. What a great lookin' kid! Sorry to be told of the hearing problem. It really sounds like he is going to have awesome care and it won't be much of a problem. You are truly blessed with the miracle of life! Enjoy!

Thanks for commenting, John! We think he is good-lookin' too but we're slightly biased! :) And we've gotten to a more upbeat place about his hearing loss at this point, because he is getting the best care available! Your positivity is appreciated. XO
