Holiday Goings-On

It's December 23rd and of course, we have been doing all the Christmassy things!
Two weekends ago we decorated our tree.

And the kids really look forward to their Advent Calendar treat every day.
Not gonna lie, I leverage it as incentive to get their clothes on faster when we are starting our day!

Some days it's a little tiny chocolate egg, but a few days ago it was this hollow Santa!

I baked up a whole lotta cookies for our neighbours
and The Little Dumers helped out, along with Eryn.

After cookie decorating, Eryn and I were feeling adventurous
so we took the  kids to the Vancouver Christmas Market to ride the carousel and eat some bad food.

On the last day of school before the Christmas Break, the whole family went to Jordy's school for a pancake breakfast, musical performances and a Special Visitor!  Here the kids were waiting in Stacey's classroom when Cygni spotted a squirrel and all the kids had to have a peek.

The day did not start out well.  We suspect that the change in our morning routine and the overwhelming number of people in the building put Jordy out of sorts because he wouldn't put on one of his hearing aids, participate in rehearsal with Stacey or sit down on his own in circle or at the breakfast.  Thankfully, after some food, a little time to wrap his brain around it all and an opportunity to run out his ya-yas a little outdoors our little guy came around just in time to perform accompany his school friends on the bongos as they sang "Jingle Bells!"

It was nice to get some Christmas cards and treats from friends.

Jordan plays the bongos and Ning plays the keyboard for an intro and
to accompany the CHSC kids on "Jingle Bells."
We are very proud!

And both kiddos got gifties from You-Know-Who!

Cygni received a collection of all the classic Madeline stories
and Jordy got a holiday Max & Ruby anthology

And finally, last Saturday was Cygni's last session of Dance Class.
Our poor girl's eczema was bothering her that morning and she was pretty uncomfortable in class,
she loses focus part way through her performance below and has to rub her face and eyes a bit,
but she eventually gets back on track.  We are proud of her too!

We'll post again to let you know if Santa arrived!
Two more sleeps!
Merry Christmas!
