It's been nearly two months since a new post, but we've been hopping here! When Mommy isn't meeting with contractors to get estimates for our carport repair work, she is taking Cygni to drop-in class or to play outside or we're off running errands, and J-man had a week off for Spring Break, so we haven't had a lot of time for blogging. We won't write much, just offer you some catch-up photos.
We have been enjoying the end of winter and the early days of spring here, in BC. Not only have we had a fair number of dry overcast days, but we have had many pretty, sunshiny days, even if they were still a bit nippy out. And we've been taking as much advantage of the dry weather as we can.
Take a look at how big Jordy is getting!
Mommy has been trying to get Cygni off to Strong Start more often,
in order to play with other kids and experience a more structured environment than home.
We've been enjoying playgrounds of course too!
Mommy calls this "In search of puddles"
it got a lot of facebook likes
strawberry girl, taking her ice cream very seriously.
One spring break day we went to ride the miniature train at Stanley Park
and bumped into the Easter Bunny!
The kids are really looking forward to decorating eggs
and having an egg hunt with their friends this year.
We took one Friday for a little Spring Break sea-to-sky getaway in the little town of Brackendale, just north of Squamish and about a half hour south of Whistler. Brackendale, BC happens to be one of the largest Bald Eagle gathering sites in North America! Unfortunately, we missed out on Eagle spotting, the peak time for it being November to January. Still, we were able to find some fun. We dropped by Whistle Punk Hollow for mini golf and as we arrived between rain showers, we got the place all to ourselves! Which was good, as some members of our foursome were not exactly focused on achieving par at all times [cough, cough - Cygni!]
We stayed in a little cabin at Sun Wolf for a song and the kids loved sleeping over somewhere other than home. Their favourite activity was tossing rocks into the Squamish River and then after a yummy dinner out, we came back to the cabin and enjoyed hot chocolate with mini-marshmallows inside and stove popped popcorn! It was just one day out of town, but we all had a great time!

Bye-bye Cabin #5!
"Hello, Mr. Snail!"
Somebody got into Mommy's mascara!
Starting him early!
(just kidding, it's only chocolate milk)
Sunny playdate with Nolan
Yesterday was a professional day for the teachers at Jordy's school, so we we took the free day to visit the Aquarium. Jordan was fascinated by the Octopus and Cygni thought all the fish were hungry, she kept saying, "The fish is looking for food!" We also got to see beluga whales and penguins!
The day had started out rainy, which is why we thought the Aquarium would be a good idea, but it changed to glorious sunshine! So after a quick bite of lunch we headed to the beach! From Ambleside in West Van you can see Stanley Park and the Lion's Gate Bridge, and the beach is very kid-friendly. Once again, their favourite activity is tossing rocks into the water. Ah, to be a kid, and made happy so easily!
The sun was shining, but so was the moon!
