Jordan was super-excited to go on the Halloween Train.
Last week, Mommy brought her friend Eryn along with the kids to visit a local nursery called Art Knapp's for their Halloween fun zone. They have rides and play areas for kids to play in as well as lots of yummy treats. Mommy made the mistake of taking the train conductor's word that the Haunted Train Ride was not going to be too scary for the little kids, and of course, it was! Bad Mom of the Year Award Winner, right here! I spent the next few hours talking about the haunted tunnel with Jordan and how it was scary, but it was only pretend. Now whenever he sees these pictures he says, "Scary Train Ride Tunnel!" The rest of our visit was pretty fun though!
Fun in the tunnel slide!
Jordan and Erin on a carnival ride.
Then, last Friday, Cindi and Erin (a different Erin, from the one above,) came over with their kids and we all made caramel apples. We whipped up a big tray full to take to Pre-school this week and give to Jordan's friends and teachers. It was a lot of fun to do!
How do you like them apples?!
Salted caramel & chocolate and Riesen dipped apples!
And of course, Sunday was the day of the big WIGGLES CELEBRATION CONCERT! We have been clutching our tickets tightly in anticipation since August! We took both kids and they were both keenly engaged. Cygni happily clapped in time to many of the songs before she fell asleep (a combination of nap-time and having reached her threshhold for excitement!) And Jordan got to get up close to the Wiggles Stage andeven got a high-five from Captain Feathersword when he came out in the audience! We are sad to see Jeff, Murray and Greg Wiggle retire from touring, but it will be fun to see the torch pass to some new Wiggles!
Jordan and Mommy went to check out the stage and Cygni decided to scoot after them!
Wearing his Wiggles shirt, Jordan got a new Wiggles hat and a flashing, uh, Wiggle Car-on-a-stick thing. Oh, and a non-Wiggles branded mini donut.
What the...that kid totally photobombed us!
We brought the sound-dampening ear-muffs but they did a great job with the volume of the show so Cygni didn't have to wear them.
Two Wiggles fans meet.
We had great seats...floor level, row 8, and on the end of the row so we could easily get out to dance around in the aisle. Mommy and Jordan even snuck down and sat right in fromt of the stage for a few songs! Overall it was a great show - both kids were caught up in the act...and even Mom and Dad enjoyed singing the songs that they've heard dozens hundreds of times on the DVDs. Mom and Dad were also pleased that they did some non-Wiggles songs like the Aussie favourites "Waltzing Matilda" and "Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport"!
The show is starting and Jordan is excited!
Even Cygni clapped when the Wiggles came on stage!
Just a minute before this, Jordan got to high-five Captain Feathersword! Jordy had a huge smile on his face when he met the Captain! Ahoy me hearty!
Even though it will be totally different with 3 new Wiggles, we look forward to going again next year!
