Up and down the Big Boy Slide!

Yesterday was a bright, sunny day and we decided that we couldn't stay cooped up in the house, so we went out to Lion's Park and played for a while.  To our surprise, Jordan tried his climbing skills on the Big Boy Slide.  Mommy followed him as he clambered up the ladder, and Daddy was ready at the side to catch any wayward sliding, but the Little Dumer didn't need our help at all!  He showed us that he was perfectly capable of getting up and then sliding down on his own!  He went several times on his bum and then graduated to sliding down on his belly.  We can't believe how he is growing sometimes!

He's just a blur on that thing, now!

And the week before, on BC Day, Mommy had to work, so Daddy decided it was time for a Dad and Son Day of Fun.  So they went to the Queen's Park petting zoo, where Jordy made friends with the baby goats and then frolicked in the shade, picking flowers.

When Mommy uploaded the park photos from her iPhone, she discovered a few pictures from our visit to San Juan Island.  We still look back fondly on that trip.  It was great to see Evan and Jordy together; Jordan absolutely wanted to try everything that Evan could do!  It was a little rough for the little guy at first.  He seemed to really struggle with going to bed in different surroundings, which meant a napless and, hence, cranky toddler!  It took us until the third afternoon in the rental to figure out we couldn't just leave Jordan in a strange bed and hope that he would fall asleep like he does at home; we decided to try lying down with him and that worked very well.  Finally well rested, he was more like the happy Jordan we knew him to be at home, and we were able to better enjoy our holiday.

Jordan finds a stick during an evening visit to the beach!

Great BBQ place we found in Friday Harbour,
doesn't my pulled pork sandwich with mac'n'cheese look yummy?!
