J-Man playing and snacking at the Lake
We had heard that of the two lakes, Sasamat is the warmer, in fact, it is the warmest lake in the lower mainland. So we decided to try getting to White Pine Beach again. And this time we found the right way. Now, we enjoyed Buntzen, but Sasamat was so unbelievably excellent I wished I hadn't waited all these years to come! The water was definitely warmer, and the beach sandier, and there was a lot more room. And of course, with Daddy around the fun-meter just goes off the charts!
Just kickin' back, floating on the lake, eatin' some waffles - that's how he rolls!
trying to score food off the beach-goers

The following Sunday Mommy decided she just had to get her boys out of the house again, and in our search for stuff to do we found out about The Festival of the Sea being held out in White Rock and decided to check it out. There were lots of vendor's wares to look at and we found a comfy spot on the grass where we could listen to some of the bands and eat some food. We had a lot of fun playing with Jordan as you can see....

There goes that fun-meter again, Dad!
Jordan has hit some pretty big milestones in the last week. He can now drink out of a straw. We were at Uncle Mark's for a BBQ last week and we met a baby girl there, two months younger than Jordy, who could drink from a straw. Well, we had to try it out for our little guy too! It took a couple of minutes, but not much longer before he got the hang of it. It's a relief for those times we forget the sippy cup now, we can just use a take-out cup and straw! Naturally, it followed that he would have his first ever Coca-cola once he mastered that! He made a face at the first taste, but like the rest of us, he musta learned that it burns so good, because it wasn't too long before he was reaching for the cup again! The Little Dumer also ate his first sushi! Salmon sashimi, some edamame and tempura. Already, Jordan has had some more sophisticated dining experiences than many adults I know. What a guy!
