Babymoon, Bath-time & Beginning Week #2

Wow, Jordan is now a week old! We can hardly believe it. We’ve spent the last few days home from the hospital basking in the wonder that is new parenthood. Other than the occasional brief visit with a neighbour or the community health nurse we have had the luxury of a “Babymoon” with little Jordan. We’ve marveled at his tiny toes and giggled over his baby toots (babies don’t fart, they toot; toot comes awfully close to rhyming with cute, you see,) snuggled as a trio in bed and wondered when we should strap on his first pair of skates before realising we didn’t want that day to come too soon and quickly reverting to cooing and squidging chubby cheeks. Chris turned to me today as he gestured to Jordan and said, “He’s perfect. Can you believe it? Chris plus Deb equals that.” It is amazing, really. And while this week has not been without its struggles, we have gained so much, not only from the Little Dumer, but from one another as well. And gooey as it may sound, Chris’n’Deb find themselves even more in love with each other now than they were a week ago.

Now that the week is done though, we realise that there are lots of friends and family wanting to meet our little man. While we can’t guarantee that Mom or Baby will be awake at any given time (and naturally, prefer to not wake Jordy up to be passed about,) we do welcome visitors in the afternoon over the next two weeks while Chris is home, and simply ask that you call ahead so we can make ourselves presentable. We’d also like to invite you to your choice of two Meet & Greet gatherings on the next two Saturdays (June 6th & 13th.) You don’t need to RSVP, just come by anytime between 1 and 4 pm. You’re welcome to B.Y.O. Beer, BBQ or other potluck item. We’ll have the BBQ going, so Chris can grill up whatever you bring with you, but other than that we’re just providing disposable accoutrements (paper plates, etc.) and condiments. With the nice weather it is sure to be a good time, and a nice opportunity to see the baby!

David and I would love to come visit lit' Jordan. I'm thinking the 13th, since we gotta go to a baby shower on the 6th. What's with all this baby events lately? I should tell David it's a sign and watch him freak out. LOL!

Congrats on your handsome little Canadian!! Although I've only seen pics of Chris, Jordan certainly looks like both of you. Great blog and great pics, I must warn you though, that you have gained a life long blog stalker!
