Summer's End

The Labour Day weekend has wrapped up and most of the kids in the neighbourhood are back to school today.  Jordy is lucky, school doesn't start up again for him until next week.  So we'll see if we can squeeze in another adventure or two before it's time to make some new friends and meet our new teachers at CHSC next week.  In the mean time, I thought I would upload some photos that we missed posting over the summer, it's nice to look back on some of the fun we've had!  You may notice, I changed the dimensions of our blog body, so that I would have room to make some of the pictures a bit bigger.  I'll have some bigger photos starting today, I hope you all enjoy!

To help celebrate our friend Nolan's 3rd birthday,
we went to Bear Creek Park to ride on Edward the Engine while Jordy was in playgroup.
Cygni liked tooting her train whistle and the ride was so fun we went twice!

The following Saturday we went to the park and Nolan opened his birthday presents

This is Cygni ensuring quality control of the gifts!

The next weekend we went to yet another birthday party!
Jordan's friend Landon turned 4 and celebrated with a cool Lego Cake!

It wasn't all fun and games this summer.  Cygni got her first haircut last month and she was NOT pleased.
Consolation afterwards came in the form of ice cream though.
Ice cream makes just about anything OK again.

One day Mommy took the kiddos to Burnaby Village Museum's antique carousel and we rode twice!
Once each on a horse and then once on the sleigh.

After the carousel we drove to the top of Burnaby Mountain and had a picnic and some playtime.

We played with some squishy baff too, one day.  It's green and it's goopy.

Another day we went to Telus World of Science.
Jordan loved making the turbine go faster and faster.

and after Science World we went to see Monsters University in 3D!

It wouldn't be a good summer without a visit to the PNE!

SUGAR!  Sugar lips from those little donuts and a drink-cup as big as Cygni!

What childhood is complete without an unwanted pony ride?
Right, G-pa?

Jordan went on his very first big kid ride!  The Sizzler!
He was definitely laughing during the first two swings around at high speeds, then he quieted down and snuggled into Mommy's side.
I was a tiny bit worried he'd lose his cookies, because he was so quiet and I couldn't see his face,
but when it was over he said he thought it was fun!

Betcha didn't think you could drink popcorn!

It was fun taking the kids and letting Jordy go on so many rides this year, but we knew we had to do one with just adults.
So a few days later, we got some sitters and headed out with Mark & Aida.
It was a bit rainy, but not too much and anyway, we were able to hang out in the beer garden for the worst of it.

Doesn't Daddy look so happy?

Mommy eats a Surf's Up Dog!  Best food at the PNE, messy but delish!

Just last week, Eryn came 5-pin bowling with us, and this time Jordy bowled all by himself!

We did get one ball stuck mid way down the lane!  Oops.

One last splash before the Labour Day Weekend is over!
