We're Teething!

I know, I haven't blogged in a couple of weeks, but our hands have been full with a teething baby! We finally gave in to the lure of drugs this week, and when he seems to be crying inconsolably we dose him with the infant Tylenol. There are lots of bits of the day though, when his gums don't seem to be bothering him and he smiles and has fun. He is now able to hold his head up completely steady and has a full range of motion moving it around and looking for sounds or Mom or Dad.

We think he is very close to being able to sit up on his own and try to give him lots of time to practice. We are also experiencing a new phase of challenges with his H.A.s. He was really great about them up until about a week ago, he now pulls them out very frequently and starts chewing on them! He seems to go through waves of ignoring them, but then suddenly he gets it in his head that he wants them out and it is very hard to distract him from that. We have noticed that he is also pulling at his ears a lot and we're not sure if this is a result of the teething, or if he has an ear infection. It seems everything is a symptom of teething!

A couple of Wednesdays ago Deb finally went out for the first time without Jordan or Daddy! And she had a bellini! Some of my old Starbucks crew took me out for dinner and it was great. When I walked in the door a couple of hours later I asked Chris how the Little Dumer had been and he replied, "I haven't moved from this spot." I have to admit, I was disappointed by this. Naturally, I had no sooner stepped out of the shower when I heard wailing in the nursery. My timing, apparently, is impeccable.

It's also Thanksgiving Weekend up here in Canada. We all went for dinner at Linda Vallee's (mother-in-law to Chris' cousin Jerry.) Jordy got to meet one of Chris' other cousins, Dianne and our friend Naomi who had up til then only seen him in belly-form. We all had a fabulous time, with lots of great company, but Jordan pretty much only had eyes for Uncle Jer, because Jerry was so great at swinging him and making him laugh. We have never heard Jordy laugh with anyone as much as he laughed with Jerry, we think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
