Hi all!!! 12:45pm update.
It doesn't seem like we've been at RCH for 8 hours, but we have!
Deb is doing very well. We thought she might be whiny but she's been a trooper. The nitrous oxide really helped her through the contractions.
After the last check she was 4 to 5cm which isn't much progress for 3 hours. SO...they decided to give her somy oxytocin to strengthen the contractions. Since stronger contractions means more pain, Deb opted to get the epidural done now.
The epiduiral was done about 30 mins ago and now Deb is off the nitrous and sleeping like, well, you know. It was odd seeing them test the epidural by rubbing a block of ice on Deb's bare skin and she didn't flinch!
They will be giving her the oxytocin in 30 mins and then we should see real progress within a couple hours.
HUGE thanks to Aida Driver for swinging by and staying to rub Deb's feet and braid her hair. Both made deb feel a LOT better. What a friend!
